It’s recommended that you apply two coats of ABC wall putty followed by ABC water Primer and then Exterior Emulsions to obtain better results. In case you want to apply it on old surfaces then make sure that the substrate is firm. You must clean the surface with sugar soap solution, rinse and dry it before repairing and applying
